Uttarakhand High Court Restrains 'Mohammad' Deepak from Social Media Posts Amid Kotdwar Incident Probe

The Uttarakhand High Court refused to quash an FIR against 'Mohammad' Deepak Kumar involving the January 26 Kotdwar incident, where he allegedly confronted individuals over a shop's name.

The Court restrained the petitioner from posting videos or "sermons" on social media, noting that such actions sensationalize the matter and hinder the ongoing investigation.

Dismissing pleas for police protection and departmental inquiries against officials, observing that the state had already provided security and registered FIRs based on the petitioner's complaints.

Disposing of the petition, the Bench directed the police to follow Arnesh Kumar guidelines while ordering the petitioner to cooperate fully with the probe.
