Parliamentary sessions refer to the periods during which Parliament meets to conduct legislative business.
In India, there are three main sessions each year: the Budget Session (Feb–May) focuses on the Union Budget; the Monsoon Session (July–Sept) handles legislative discussions; and the Winter Session (Nov–Dec) addresses pending bills and current affairs.
This year, the Monsoon Session will convene from July 21 to August 12, 2025.
The President can also call Special Sessions for urgent issues. In case of a legislative deadlock between the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, a Joint Session under Article 108 is held.
