The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Centre, Uttar Pradesh government, and state police on a plea by a woman advocate alleging illegal detention, sexual assault, torture, and threats by personnel at Noida’s Sector 126 police station.
The petitioner stated the incident occurred while she was performing her professional duties and seeking FIR registration for her injured client.
Considering the gravity of the allegations and concerns over CCTV tampering, the Court agreed to hear the plea under Article 32.
The Bench directed the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner to preserve CCTV footage in a sealed cover and listed the matter for January 7, 2026.
