Woman Moves Bombay High Court Against Unauthorized Use Of Her Photo In State Ads, Political Campaign

Namrata Ankush Kawale has filed a case in the Bombay High Court against the unauthorized use of her photograph by political parties and government ads.

She claims her image was used to promote government schemes without her consent.

A photographer allegedly took her picture and uploaded it on Shutterstock, where it was used by four State Governments, the Congress Party of Telangana, the Union Ministry of Rural Development, and private firms.

The court raised concerns about the misuse of personal images and scheduled the next hearing for March 24.

Kawale is seeking a permanent ban on using her photo and legal action against those responsible for violating her privacy rights.
