X (Formerly Twitter) Challenges Global Content Blocking in Ramdev Case

In written submissions to the Delhi High Court, X argued that global blocking orders, such as the one in the Ramdev defamation case, suppress public debate and could legitimize authoritarian censorship.

X contended that allowing courts in various countries to issue global takedown orders would lead to content being restricted based on the most repressive country's laws. 

The 2019 court order followed Ramdev's defamation lawsuit over the book Godman to Tycoon, directing the global blocking of defamatory content related to him, even preventing access through VPNs.
