Jailed separatist leader Yasin Malik has claimed before the Delhi High Court that six Indian governments engaged him to help resolve the Kashmir issue.
In a sworn affidavit, he stated that the meetings were later distorted to portray him as a conspirator in a terror-funding case.
Malik claims the Intelligence Bureau requested him to meet with militant leader Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan in 2006. He also stated he briefed then-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his return.
The claims were made in a written submission as a response to the NIA's appeal seeking the death penalty against him.
