The Delhi High Court has directed social media platforms to remove unauthorized video recordings of proceedings involving AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, where he sought the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma.
The bench issued notices to Kejriwal and others following a petition alleging a conspiracy to scandalize the judiciary.
The Court emphasized that under the IT Rules 2021 and High Court Video Conferencing Rules, unauthorized recording and dissemination of court proceedings are strictly prohibited.
Intermediaries like Google and Meta were ordered to take down specific URLs and provide subscriber information of the original uploaders to assist the investigation.
