Gujarat High Court Delivers Split Verdict on Asaram Bapu's Interim Bail Plea

The Gujarat High Court delivered a split verdict on the interim bail plea filed by Asaram Bapu, who is currently serving a life sentence in a 2013 rape case.

Justice Ilesh J Vora granted three months of bail, but Justice Sandeep N Bhatt dissented. The case will now be referred to the Chief Justice, who will assign it to a third judge.

Earlier, the High Court had rejected his plea, saying there was no special reason for bail. However, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail on medical grounds until March 31.
