In a notable display of civic leadership, Justice Dwarka Dhish Bansal of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has begun cycling to the Jabalpur bench.
This initiative follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for fuel conservation amid rising global energy tensions. Justice Bansal, often joined by Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, aims to inspire citizens to adopt cycling for short commutes of 1-2 kilometers.
He emphasized that judicial status should not preclude sustainable living, highlighting the health benefits and environmental necessity of reducing fuel consumption.
By revisiting the bicycle as a primary mode of transport, the judge seeks to normalize eco-friendly habits within the legal fraternity and the public.
