The Delhi High Court has postponed the Shahdara Bar Association elections to May 24, originally scheduled for May 9.
The decision came amid ongoing monitoring of bar elections across Delhi. The Court had earlier instructed Delhi Police to ensure security at Karkardooma Court and take strict action against any disruptions.
Elections at all bar associations except Saket and Shahdara were completed on March 21. Citing security concerns raised by the election committee chairperson, the Court emphasized the need for peaceful polling.
It also allowed only one representative per candidate during vote counting and noted that candidates agreed to bear EVM costs and deposit the amount by May 13.
