Justice Yashwant Varma Refuses to Resign Despite Indictment

Justice Yashwant Varma has refused to resign as a High Court judge, even after being indicted by an in-house committee probing the discovery of unaccounted cash at his residence.

The committee submitted its report on May 4, and along with Justice Varma’s response, the matter has now been forwarded to the President and Prime Minister for his removal. 

The case originated when firefighters, responding to a fire at his home, reportedly found large sums of unaccounted cash.
